About me
Tai Munro, PhD is an educator, a coach, an athlete, a partner, a volunteer, and an animal lover. Growing up in a city with the longest greenbelt in North America, in the middle of a province that relies on oil and gas production, has resulted in a passion for sustainability that incorporates economic, social, environmental, and cultural domains. This drives Tai's work in sustainability. But it also contributes to her views as an educator because all of these domains exist in our lives and our classrooms. Tai has been moving towards equitable and inclusive teaching throughout her career, fueled by the belief that everyone is capable and has important perspectives and experiences. Through open pedagogy, universal design for learning, and culturally inclusive pedagogy, Tai aims to help students recognize that they not only belong but have the ability to contribute both in class and their community. This summer, Tai published an open educational resource (OER), Introduction to Sustainability, to ensure that everyone, regardless of their position or socioeconomic status, has access to high-quality educational materials on sustainability.
