About me
Dr. Elizabeth (Beth) Torrens is an Assistant Professor in Sociology at Trent University who currently teaches courses focused on the area of socio-legal studies and criminology. Beth is currently working on developing a 4000-level course for the Trent Criminology program in partnership with Swansea University in Wales focused on Comparative Criminology, which is the focus of this presentation. Through the Centre for Teaching and Learning at Trent University, Beth is a Teaching Fellow who uses the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) to explore student learning experiences in the Criminology degree and Socio-Legal Specialization and plans to continue this research trajectory through evaluating the learning experiences and successes of students in this new virtual exchange through SoTL.
