About me
Andrew A. Monti is an assistant professor of Strategic Communications at Trent University Durham GTA. His research interests include digital propaganda, work-integrated learning and experiential education. Andrew received his PhD in Communication & Culture from Toronto Metropolitan University (2018), secured an Insight Development Grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) to explore alternative evidence-based strategies to combat anti-vaccine misinformation on social media, and is a co-applicant on the nationwide "Interrogating Canadian Identities" research project funded by a SSHRC Partnership Development Grant. Andrew’s professional experiences include working as a legislative assistant at Queen’s Park, as a TV news reporter at Omni TV and as head of research & communications at the Italian Trade Commission’s Toronto Office. Andrew has taught a variety of media, communication and research methods courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels at York University, Toronto Metropolitan University and Wilfred Laurier University. He also directs Trent University Durham's flagship experiential learning field placement course for 4th year students.
